Chromebooks have the ability to connect to ViewSonic boards and cast their screen via VcastSender which is on most Chromebooks in District 11.
How to Connect to ViewSonic Board:
-
Turn on ViewSonic Board and open Vcast
-
Turn on the Chromebook and log in
-
Hit the magnifying glass key on the keyboard to open the search function on the chromebook
-
Search for VcastSender and click it to open
-
You will be prompted to enter the code showing on the board into the chromebook
-
Once you have entered this you will need to select which screen you would like to project onto the board and confirm that you want to cast your screen
If the above is not an option you can try the below but keep in mind that with Chromecast enabled on viewsonic boards, Chromebooks can cast anything to the board.
Make sure Chromecast is on for the ViewSonic Board:
-
Turn on ViewSonic Board you want to connect to and open Vcast
-
Select the little cog wheel on the blue screen to view the settings for Vcast
-
Ensure that Chromecast Enable is checked to allow students to cast to the board
**Note - Once Chromecast is enabled, students will be able to cast any image they want from their chromebook to the board which can lead to problems. To avoid this, uncheck Chromecast when you do not want students sharing. **
